Commissioned ‘Thurston’ Painting
My client was interested in my previous artwork and had some creative input into this work. He had requested a NRL player called 'Johnathan Thurston', wearing a new NRL team's sports jersey 'The Redcliffe Dolphins'.

This client found me on social media and wanted an original painting of retired football player Johnathan Thurston wearing the Redcliff Dolphins jersey.
They admired Thurston and wanted a piece that represents humility, sportsmanship, leadership, and loyalty. They hoped the painting would add life and brightness to their room.

Another commissioned piece (work in progress), following the same unique visual style while following requests from the client.
This artwork they wanted to add some typography artwork (in response to my previous mural work) as well as a portrait of a retired football player (Johnathan Thurston) wearing a new football team jersey.
This painting did require an additional step of photoshopping the jersey onto the reference photo for and easier process of the digital sketches before projecting the final product onto canvas.

A 914mm x 1219mm canvas (as requested by the client).
This piece will be created from hand mixed acrylic paints (for quick drying and easier application of paints - more manageable).
Spray paint in the background to tie in the jersey and to add additional texture (the client like the spray effect on my previous commission and wanted me to apply this quality within their painting).
The client wanted to implement typographic art of the players name as they really liked my typographic mural installation (can be viewed on the work page).
The client wanted this specific jersey on the player, because the player is retired, and it is a new upcoming team an additional step of photoshopping for a reference image was required before digitally drawing the icon.
The same organic shapes/ abstract style was utilised for this painting.
There is no time limit imposed for this painting due to its size and scale (it took approx. 6 months to complete around study schedule).
